Job summary

Good Samaritan University Hospital, part of Catholic Health, seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to lead the unit in the Nurse Manager's absence and coordinate care. You will mentor staff, ensure readiness for emergencies, and maintain clinical competency while safeguarding patient safety.

The role requires 5+ years RN experience in acute care with leadership, NY RN license, BSN mandatory and MSN preferred. BLS required; ACLS/PALS as applicable.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of RN experience in an acute care setting with leadership experience preferred.
• BSN degree required; MSN degree preferred.
• New York RN license & registration required.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the unit in the absence of the Nurse Manager and act as liaison between physician, patient and family.
• Assist in orientation and mentoring of new employees and ensure staff readiness for emergencies.
• Coordinate assignments to meet care standards for patient acuity and organize teams accordingly.
• Participate in staff development and training as a mentor and resource person.
• Maintain clinical competency to manage a clinical assignment.
• Ensure health and safety of patients and employees; support performance evaluations and addressing personnel issues.
