Cathay Bank seeks an AVP/VP, Client Service Manager to establish and manage relationships with commercial clients and deliver exceptional service across banking products. You will work with Relationship Managers to onboard clients, manage day-to-day transactions, and support cross-divisional needs.

The role emphasizes client retention, service excellence, and risk management, with opportunities to lead projects and coach junior team members.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred but not required.
• 3–5+ years in a mid-size or large lending institution in a similar role.
• Experience with Windows-based applications; Excel, Word, Power Point, Adobe, etc., CRM, and Lending Systems.
• Experience with FIS Platform preferable but not required.
• Strong knowledge of products and services for commercial clients.
• Strong knowledge of Banking Operations, Treasury Management, Wealth Management, Credit Products and Underwriting Guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Proven communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute transactions and approvals with focus on operational excellence and due diligence.
• Retain and grow client relationships as primary contact for clients and service-related matters.
• Onboard new clients and implement products and services.
• Cross-sell and coordinate treasury management, wealth, and international products and services.
• Proactively manage complex client servicing needs and provide prompt follow-up.
• Resolve client concerns and escalate complex matters when needed.
• Own portfolio satisfaction, retention, and growth; engage with clients to discuss opportunities.
• Develop cross-divisional relationships and understand client needs to provide best solutions.
• Identify and manage risks and balance client expectations with bank policies.
• Approve checks, wires, and client requests within authority limits.
• Maintain integrity of client data in bank systems.
• Onboard, cross-train and coach new team members and direct reports.
• Participate in or lead divisional projects and initiatives.
