Job summary

Tabby is a fast-growing fintech enabling flexible payments globally. We are hiring a Senior Database Administrator to own ClickHouse reliability and performance in a fully remote, international team.

You will design scalable multi-node clusters, manage lifecycle end-to-end, and drive automation, security, and cost control across Kubernetes-based deployments. You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate with DevOps, and participate in incident response, including postmortems.

Qualifications

• Deep DBA-level knowledge of ClickHouse in production environments.
• Strong SQL for analytical queries and schema design review.
• Experience running large fleets of databases on Kubernetes.
• Production use of database Kubernetes operators (e.g., ClickHouse, Zalando/Postgres).
• Automating DBA tasks using IaC and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability and performance of production ClickHouse clusters.
• Design architecture and tooling to scale dozens of clusters.
• Manage cluster lifecycle: provisioning, config, scaling, upgrades, migrations.
• Build monitoring/alerting to catch issues early.
• Own backups, disaster recovery, and test restores.
• Ensure security by default and cost control.
• Serve as go-to ClickHouse expert for engineers and leadership.
• Automate routine database requests and incident response.
• Lead root-cause analysis after production incidents.
