Job summary

VSO Inc. in Lorton, VA is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) — Level 3 to support DoD information systems with JSIG, RMF, and IC directives. The role involves ensuring secure configurations, maintaining RMF artifacts, and coordinating with ISSM, AO/DAO, and government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years in cybersecurity, information assurance, or information systems security (or 10+ years).
• Experience supporting SAP, SCI, or other classified environments.
• Working knowledge of JSIG, NIST SP 800-53, DoD RMF, STIGs, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Assist ISSM and assume duties in their absence.
• Maintain security controls and RMF documentation (SSPs, SCTMs, POA&Ms, SARs).
• Support RMF lifecycle and authorization efforts.
• Conduct vulnerability monitoring and remediation tracking (ACAS, Splunk).
• Coordinate changes with AO/DAO and ensure proper security configurations.
