Job summary

The Florida Department of Corrections seeks a Senior Clerk-F/C (Classification) for the Classification Department at Okaloosa Correctional Institution. The role centers on accurately classifying inmates based on needs, risks, and behaviours, determining housing and program placements to support safety and rehabilitation.

On-site position requiring five years of clerical work, a high school diploma, and ability to manage records, data entry, and mail/document processing to keep the department

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or it's equivalent.
• Must possess five (5) years of Secretatial or clerical work experience.
• College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semesters or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare correspondence, memorandums, and typing essential forms and documents.
• Maintain inmate files, conduct audits on new inmates, and prepare forms.
• Input data into the CDC database, retrieve information, and maintain classification documentation.
• Receive, date stamp, sort and distribute mail, and handle copying/scanning/faxing of documents.
• Provide customer service by answering calls and assisting inmate families.
