Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Claims Team Lead in Charlotte to manage core claims work and coach a claims team. The role combines senior individual contributor duties with people leadership, guiding less experienced members and escalating complex issues to leaders.

The successful candidate will review transportation claims, coordinate investigations, and ensure consistent handling while supporting continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in claims or related field.
• Independently manage claims and resolve complex issues.
• Strong knowledge of claims handling principles, investigations, customer communication, and dispute resolution.
• Experience coaching or leading colleagues preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Review, investigate, and resolve transportation claims within defined procedures and guidelines.
• Respond to inquiries from customers, stakeholders, carriers, and insurers.
• Gather and evaluate claim documentation and supporting material.
• Coordinate inspections, salvage review, and subrogation when appropriate.
• Support claim file quality through documentation and rationale checks.
• Run and distribute operational reports to identify trends and compliance concerns.
• Assist with day-to-day prioritization of team workload and mentoring.
