Munich Re Specialty - North America seeks a Senior Claims Specialist for the Complex Team to manage high-exposure casualty and specialty claims on a national scale. You will coordinate with counsel, experts, and vendors to determine coverage, supervise investigations, and push for favorable resolutions across primary, excess, and reinsurance layers.

This role emphasizes strategic thinking and collaboration within a leading specialty insurer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Law degree preferred.
• 10+ years experience in handling high exposure casualty and/or specialty claims.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and strategic in decision-making.
• Willingness to travel 10% - 15% of time.
• Maintain valid adjusters’ license(s) in states assigned or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly investigate and assess claims for coverage, damages, and recoveries.
• Exercise thoughtful curiosity and strategic thinking.
• Demonstrate understanding of coverage issues and regulatory requirements.
• Proactively manage claims with a strategic vision for outcomes.
• Set appropriate reserves reflecting exposure over the life of the claim.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and vendors for optimal outcomes.
• Present high exposure claims to leadership and stakeholders.
• Collaborate on client meetings, product development, and audits.
• Identify ways to improve claim efficiencies and outcomes.
