Job summary

CRC Group is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist in the United States to investigate, evaluate, and resolve moderately complex property and casualty claims from intake to resolution.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of claims handling experience, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and an adjuster license or ability to obtain one. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate documentation and timely settlements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of claims handling experience in property & casualty insurance.
  • State adjuster license or ability to obtain within timeframe.
  • AIC or CPCU coursework preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a portfolio of moderately complex property and casualty claims from intake to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including statements, coverage reviews, and documentation analysis.
  • Evaluate exposure and potential liability based on policy language and facts.
  • Negotiate settlements within authority limits with cost control and fairness.
  • Maintain accurate claim notes and reports in line with internal standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, legal counsel, and external vendors as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and SLAs.
  • Provide responsive communication and superior service to policyholders, brokers, and stakeholders.

The Senior Claims Specialist is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and resolving moderately complex claims within established guidelines and authority levels. The role ensures timely, fair, and cost-effective claims handling while maintaining regulatory compliance and delivering superior customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Handle a portfolio of moderately complex property and casualty claims from intake to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, including gathering statements, reviewing policy coverage, and analyzing relevant documentation.
  • Evaluate exposure and potential liability based on policy language and facts.
  • Negotiate settlements within authority limits while ensuring cost control and fairness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, claim notes, and reports in compliance with internal standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, legal counsel, and external vendors as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, internal policies, and service-level agreements.
  • Provide responsive communication and superior service to policyholders, brokers, and other stakeholders.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2-4 years of relevant claims handling experience with demonstrated knowledge of property and casualty insurance principles.
  • Experience working with claims management systems and standard office software.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS
  • Appropriate state adjuster license(s) required or the ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
  • Industry certifications such as Associate in Claims (AIC) or CPCU coursework are preferred but not mandatory.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
  • Claims investigation and evaluation skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance policy interpretation and coverage analysis.
  • Negotiation and settlement proficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple claims and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in claims systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Customer service orientation with attention to detail.
