Job summary

HITT Contracting, Inc is seeking a Claims Manager to lead a team of Claims Associates across property, casualty, and builders risk lines. You will oversee reserves, settlement decisions, and escalate complex matters to the Claims Director.

The role collaborates with carriers, TPAs, defense counsel, and brokers to drive effective claim outcomes. You will manage performance, ensure file quality, and report on claims metrics, while guiding strategy with the Claims Director and maintaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
• 7+ years of multi-line commercial claims experience with mentoring
• Proficiency in claims handling, reserving, and coverage evaluation

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Claims Associates.
• Review and approve claim files within authority; escalate matters that exceed authority to the Claims Director.
• Establish and monitor team productivity, quality, and cycle-time standards, and hold associates accountable to them.
• Conduct regular file reviews and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
• Manage a caseload of complex or high-exposure claims from investigation to resolution.
• Set and adjust reserves to reflect accurate loss exposure and monitor reserve adequacy.
• Coordinate with carriers, TPA, brokers for investigation, evaluation, and settlement.
• Track and report on claims expenses and flag cost concerns to the Claims Director.
• Coordinate with defense counsel on litigated claims and budgeting.
• Support the Claims Director on complex, catastrophic, or reputational matters as needed.
• Escalate claims involving coverage questions or regulatory exposure.
• Prepare regular claims performance reports and identify process improvements.
• Partner with the Claims Director on training initiatives to build capability.
