Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. in Washington, DC seeks a Claims Manager to oversee day-to-day claims handling across property, casualty, and builders risk, leading a team of Claims Associates and ensuring timely, accurate resolutions.

You will coordinate with carriers, TPAs, and defense counsel, manage reserves and file quality, and drive process improvements, reporting to the Claims Director. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
• 7+ years multi-line commercial claims experience, with 2+ years in people leadership.
• Knowledge of reserving, claims handling, and coverage across property, casualty, builders risk.
• Experience in the construction or commercial real estate industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Claims Associates with workload and performance management.
• Review and approve claim files within reserve and settlement authority; escalate when needed.
• Set and monitor productivity, quality, and cycle-time standards and conduct file audits.
• Directly manage complex or high-exposure claims from investigation to resolution.
• Coordinate with carriers, TPAs, and defense counsel on investigation, evaluation, and settlement.
• Track claims expenses and report to Claims Director; flag cost concerns.
