Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Director of Risk Management in Chesapeake, VA to lead the development and execution of strategies for reducing self-funded loss costs through effective claims management and risk controls. The role requires oversight of a high-volume litigated liability portfolio and collaboration with internal and external partners.

The position emphasizes leadership of a claims team, development of litigation strategies, and alignment with carriers and TPA partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or law degree required, with 10+ years in multi-state liability and litigated cases.
• Strong analytical skills for investigations, strategies, and reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to manage difficult situations.
• Willingness to travel on short notice.
• Pro-active, collaborative, and able to work in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex litigated general and auto liability claims to reduce costs.
• Partner with internal partners to develop case strategies.
• Coordinate with TPA examiners, outside counsel, and investigators on liability matters.
• Assist in panel counsel network development and review.</br>
