Job summary

Admiral Insurance Group, part of the W. R. Berkley family, is seeking a Claims Superintendent for Professional Liability in a hybrid role. You will handle high-exposure professional liability claims, supervise adjusters, and coordinate with defense counsel to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive commercial insurance claims handling experience.
• Focus on Professional Liability lines of business.
• Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities

• Present facts of claims, with recommendations, to committee as necessary on Professional Liability claims.
• Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage.
• Prepare large loss reports where applicable.
• Attend and participate in mediations/trials as necessary.
• Establish appropriate loss and expense reserves; maintain reserves based on investigation.
• Supervise activities of Independent Adjusters, investigators and defense attorneys.
• Adhere to procedures and Best Practice guidelines and applicable law.
• Comply with reporting requirements of treaty and facultative reinsurers.
• Maintain understanding of unfair claim practices statutes.
• Participate in broker relations calls/visits as needed.
• Attend industry related seminars/workshops for continuing education.
• Additional tasks as assigned.
