Job summary

Markel Group in Rosemont, IL is seeking a seasoned claims professional to handle moderate to high complexity claims from initial coverage enquiry through liability assessment and quantum analysis. You will mitigate indemnity and expense exposure, provide timely updates to internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to best practices in claims handling.

A licensed adjuster with industry designations is preferred, with hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) or fully remote options

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Claims license required or eligible to obtain license.
• Industry designations (INS, IEA, AIC, ARM, SCLA, CPCU) or related training encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes coverage and communicates coverage positions.
• Investigates loss facts and extent of damages; coordinates information for stakeholders.
• Delivers training to colleagues and external contacts as appropriate.
• Sets reserves within authority or makes claim recommendations to manager.
• Handles claims with cost-effective and timely closure while meeting SLAs.
