Job summary

Encova Insurance has an immediate opening for a Senior Coverage Attorney (business title: Senior Claims Coverage & General Counsel). This remote or hybrid role requires residency in approved payroll states, including Ohio, with Columbus as a base.

The attorney will serve as senior technical resource for coverage analysis, litigation, regulatory matters, and claim handling guidance across all lines of business.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required and active law license in good standing.
• Extensive knowledge of insurance coverage analysis and claim handling practices.
• Experience guiding coverage opinions, and coordinating with Claims and Legal teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely legal guidance on complex commercial and personal lines coverage matters.
• Advise on dispute-resolution approaches and extra-contractual exposure.
• Serve as senior technical resource for coverage litigation and declaratory actions.
• Develop litigation and resolution strategies with internal teams and outside counsel.
• Monitor regulatory developments and provide training to promote compliance.
• Support responses to regulatory inquiries and subpoenas.
