Job summary

MARTA in Atlanta, GA is seeking a senior claims adjuster to guide resolution of complex liability and property damage claims. You will investigate, negotiate settlements, and respond on-call to serious injury scenes, including site investigations and coordinating with attorneys and providers.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance or Business Administration plus four years’ experience; or substitution year-for-year.

Qualifications

• Degree requirement: Bachelor's in Risk Management, Insurance or Business Administration plus four years experience.
• Experience in investigating and/or adjusting claims for public carriers, insurers, or law firms.
• Proficiency in evaluating liability and negotiating with claimants and attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Obtain information to determine liability in complex bodily injury or property damage cases.
• Evaluate evidence and prepare reports with conclusions and actions.
• Determine liability and damages, negotiate settlements with claimants.
• Maintain claim records and assist General Counsel in litigation resolutions.
• Provide guidance to junior adjusters and oversee major assignments.
• Respond on-call for on-scene investigations involving significant financial impact.
