Job summary

Terra Engineering, Ltd. in Bolingbrook, Illinois seeks a Civil Transportation Engineering Technical Director to lead technical operations for a range of projects. You will direct design coordination, QC/QA, and multi-disciplinary teams while guiding engineering standards and client engagement.

Qualifications

• ABET/EAC-accredited program required
• 15+ years of engineering experience
• PE required; SE for Structural, if applicable
• Additional credentials preferred (CFM, CPESC, ENV SP, LEED AP)

Responsibilities

• Lead project proposals and client interviews; present Terra work at conferences and events
• Support business development and strategic growth efforts
• Define staffing requirements
• Provide guidance on complex technical solutions
• Develop design criteria and concepts
• Perform design calculations and ensure code compliance
• Conduct QC/QA reviews and enforce guidelines
• Approve and certify deliverables as Engineer of Record
• Lead and mentor multiple projects and teams
• Collaborate with managers to resolve project performance issues
• Assist in technical growth strategy of the department
• Recruitment and candidate selection input
• Ensure safety and standards compliance
• Create and maintain Terra standards and guidelines
