Job summary

TERRA Engineering, Ltd. is seeking an accomplished engineering leader in Peoria, IL to guide technical operations, oversee design and QA/QC, and mentor staff.

The role requires direct involvement in high-complexity projects, development of design criteria, and coordination across disciplines with adherence to codes and standards. The position emphasizes business development, proposal support, and the ongoing evolution of engineering standards within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. engineering (ABET/EAC-accredited) is required.
• 15+ years of engineering experience is required.
• PE license is required; SE for Structural is required.
• Additional credentials like CFM/CPESC/ENV SP/LEED AP are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design coordination for multi-disciplinary projects and act as Engineer of Record when certifying deliverables.
• Provide engineering leadership on large projects and oversee medium-scale efforts.
• Contribute to business development, proposals, and staffing planning; mentor staff and participate in performance reviews.
• Develop design concepts and criteria, perform complex analysis, ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Develop and enforce TERRA standards and guidelines; support project managers to resolve performance issues.
