Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead civil site development projects in the Northeast and DMV. This field-driven role requires hands-on management of earthwork, utilities, and site infrastructure, coordinating crews and subcontractors to keep production on schedule.

Ideal candidates will have 7–12+ years in civil construction, strong reading of civil/utility plans, and a proven track record of safety, quality, and productivity on industrial, residential, or infrastructure

Qualifications

• 7–12+ years in civil construction, site development or heavy civil.
• Experience as Superintendent, General Superintendent, or Foreman ready to step up.
• Strong hands-on experience with earthwork, grading, excavation, and underground utilities.
• Experience reading civil plans and utility/grading plans.
• Willingness to travel throughout Northeast and DMV (DC, MD, VA).

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day field operations on civil site development projects.
• Manage crews, foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
• Plan and sequence work to keep production moving and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and Project Engineers to maintain schedules.
• Oversee earthwork, grading, utilities, drainage, and sitework.
• Coordinate with surveyors, inspectors, engineers, and utility companies.
• Read and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, and specifications.
• Maintain daily reports and field documentation.
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on site.
