Job summary

Vistra Nuclear Operations Company seeks a Civil Engineering Manager to lead the civil/structural scope for Power Uprate projects, ensuring safety, constructability, and NRC compliance. You will coordinate with EPCs, OEMs, and site engineering on foundations and structural modifications to support plant reliability.

The role requires a civil/structural engineering background with 10+ years in nuclear/heavy industry and 5+ years in design/construction, plus leadership of multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Civil or Structural preferred.
• 10+ years in nuclear or heavy industrial engineering; 5+ years in civil/structural design.
• Experience on Extended Power Uprates, large component replacements, or >$1B infra projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil/structural engineering scope for EPU projects, ensuring safety and schedule adherence.
• Direct and review civil/structural designs for NRC licensing bases, ACI/AISC codes, fleet standards.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and site engineering on building foundations and structures.
• Support Owner’s Engineer and third-party reviews for seismic/structural integrity.
• Resolve civil/structural technical issues impacting milestones.
• Ensure designs support long-term operability and integration with plant infrastructure.
