Job summary

CLP Engineering is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer-Power Systems Eng IV to design, develop, and oversee civil/structural aspects of substations, transmission, and distribution projects. You will lead detailed plans, cost estimates, and technical specs in compliance with codes.

The role requires a BS in civil engineering, 8+ years of power systems site development experience, and a PE license (CA preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (required).
• 8+ years of civil engineering experience focused on power systems site development (required).
• PE license required; CA PE license preferred.
• Strong AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related design software proficiency.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations for power systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, designs, and cost estimates for power systems site development projects, including substations, transmission lines, and distribution systems.
• Analyze project requirements and create technical specifications, calculations, and drawings for the projects in compliance with codes and standards.
• Provide recommendations to improve project feasibility, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare all civil and structural designs for various projects.
• Coordinate with other departments, project teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry standards.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, and ensure timely completion of projects within budget and on schedule.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality control checks to ensure that projects meet design and regulatory requirements and ensure that all documentation and reports are accurate and up-to-date.
• Collaborate with other engineers, planners, and stakeholders to identify and evaluate potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Mentor junior engineers and review and approve their work products.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, materials, and methods in the power systems infrastructure field, and recommend new approaches to improve project outcomes.
