Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Technical Manager to lead our Civil/Site team in Irvine, CA. This role focuses on executing street improvements, sewer, water, grading, and stormwater designs for land development projects, collaborating with clients, consultants, and internal staff.

You will mentor engineers, oversee grading and hydrology analyses, and ensure projects meet budgets, schedules, and agency requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 12+ years of related civil engineering experience, preferably in land or site development.
• PE license is required.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other related software.
• Demonstrate level of knowledge required to serve as a technical resource for advanced engineering principles and design skills.
• In depth knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management software.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Responsibilities

• Scope land development projects from concept through construction in collaboration with project manager.
• Forecast project timelines and prepare schedules for staff, meeting deadlines for multiple projects.
• Solve design issues related to site constraints, regulations, budgets and timing.
• Oversee the design of land development projects including roadways, fields, site layouts and utility extensions.
• Perform site investigations and due diligence including utility research and agency regulation reviews.
• Manage and mentor engineer staff.
• Provide oversight on grading designs including earthwork, ADA compliance, and site safety.
• Oversee preparation of construction notes, details, and cost estimates per agency requirements.
• Coordinate with client, consultants and internal teams to meet deadlines and permits.
