Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Irvine, CA is seeking an Engineering Designer II to contribute to the design and development of energy, residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use land development projects. You will work in the Civil/Site division, preparing construction drawings, grading, utilities, and stormwater details under the guidance of senior engineers.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, 2–4 years of site/civil experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in site/civil land development or related engineering fields.
• EIT preferred.
• Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations.
• Proficiency in stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading and related site designs.
• Demonstrated AutoCAD Civil 3D skills from concept through completion.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail with analytical and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to read, write and understand English in job communications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction drawings, setup plan sheets, details and exhibits.
• Prepare grading plans, street improvements, utilities and details.
• Ensure technical accuracy and proper documentation of plans and reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers and other disciplines to execute projects.
• Assist in basic stormwater calculations and reporting.
• Plot and assemble civil engineering plans and reports.
• Provide engineering support to other departments as needed.
