Job summary

AKRF is seeking a Senior Civil Project Manager in High Bridge, NJ to lead and grow the Civil Engineering practice. The role involves guiding staff, managing multiple projects, and delivering high-quality design within New Jersey.

You will collaborate with leadership to shape strategic direction, develop client relationships, and oversee business development, budgeting, and project delivery while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.
• NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 15+ years of experience in civil engineering and project leadership.
• Experience delivering design projects in New Jersey.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and budgets.
• Experience presenting at public hearings.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to professional and technical staff on a range of projects.
• Oversee QA/QC prior to submission.
• Lead/Support marketing and proposals for land development and infrastructure projects.
• Develop and execute strategic business plan and budget for the department.
• Recruit and onboard new department staff.
• Manage local staff and career development.
• Lead design and production of plans/specifications for land development, utilities, stormwater and other infrastructure.
• Maintain and enhance client relationships and develop new projects.
• Collaborate to introduce new ideas and innovations to deliver projects.
• Participate in regular client interactions and business development.
• Motivate staff and foster talent; collaborate across organizational lines to share expertise.
