Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Senior Civil Project Engineer to lead a design team and manage civil engineering projects from concept to completion in a hybrid role. You will handle site layout, grading, utility design, SWPPP, and stormwater management while coordinating with architects, MEP, and construction project managers.

The position requires a P.E. license, a Civil Engineering degree, and 8+ years of site/civil production experience on commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• P.E. license in Civil Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of site/civil production experience on commercial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, and MS Office.
• Experience identifying practical uses for AI tools to improve team processes.
• Ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Civil Engineering Designers and Civil Project Engineers.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and structural engineers.
• Assist in preparing and negotiating contracts and change orders with clients and sub-contractors.
• Design full site plans or with minimal direction.
• Conduct site visits and generate reports and recommendations.
• Prepare design calculations and reports.
• Manage budgets and schedules for project phases.
• Respond to RFIs and submittals and coordinate multidisciplinary work.
• Mentor staff and develop team capabilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
