Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Senior Civil Project Engineer to lead a design team and manage civil projects from conception to completion. You will oversee site layout, grading, utilities, SWPPP, and stormwater, coordinating with Architects, MEP, and Construction Project Managers.

You will produce civil construction documents compliant with client and code requirements while mentoring staff and engaging with clients and sub-consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• P.E. in Civil Engineering required.
• 8+ years of site/civil production, preferably with commercial projects.
• AutoCAD and MS Office required.
• Experience working within Civil3D required.
• Demonstrated ability to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes and efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Civil Engineering Designers and Civil Project Engineers.
• Engage in client interaction throughout projects.
• Coordinate with sub-consultants.
• Assist in preparing and negotiating contracts and change orders with clients and sub-contractors.
• Design full site plans or with little or no direction.
• Conduct site visits and generate reports and recommendations.
• Prepare design calculations and reports.
• Establish and maintain project budgets and schedules.
• Prepare responses to RFIs and submittals.
• Coordinate the work of a multi-disciplined team through design phases.
• Demonstrate knowledge of municipal codes.
• Coordinate with authorities through all project phases.
• Organize and maintain project files.
• Maintain timesheets daily.
• Understand liability and constructability issues.
• Develop and mentor staff.
