Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required, land development preferred.
• PE license in Virginia or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Minimum six years of progressive civil engineering experience, especially land development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee development of construction drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Provide civil design services including site layout, grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Support diverse project types: industrial, commercial, residential, mixed-use.
• Design paving, drainage, grading, water, and wastewater components.
• Mentor and support junior staff; collaborate with internal teams and clients.
• Coordinate communication with contractors, architects, and regulators.
• Participate in project marketing, planning, and proposals.
• Manage projects from concept through construction: scope, schedule, budget, profitability.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and permits.
