Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking a Senior Civil Project Manager, PE for their Municipal team in Charlotte, North Carolina. You will lead complex municipal infrastructure projects, mentor staff, and expand client relationships across North Carolina and the Southeast.

The role requires a PE license, a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and 12+ years of progressive experience managing municipal projects. Travel to project sites and meetings is expected, with a focus on delivering high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• 12+ years of progressive civil engineering experience delivering municipal infrastructure projects.
• Strong municipal business development experience with a proven ability to grow client relationships and secure new work.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple municipal engineering projects including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and overall project performance.
• Serve as trusted advisor and primary point of contact for municipal clients.
• Develop and maintain relationships with city, county, and local government leaders.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, proposals, interviews, and project pursuits.
• Lead proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, and financial performance; ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and review designs, plans, specs, reports, and feasibility studies.
• Coordinate construction administration activities and provide technical guidance during project implementation.
• Build and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and permitting authorities.
• Mentor and develop engineers, technicians, and project staff; foster collaboration and growth.
• Support recruiting, staff development, and succession planning within the Municipal team.
