Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. in Charlotte, NC seeks a Project Engineer, PE to manage multiple municipal engineering projects from design through construction.

The role collaborates with Project Managers to meet client needs, reads plans and specifications, and provides technical guidance on design and construction. Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree and a North Carolina PE license, plus 4+ years in municipal civil engineering and plan/spec development with contract administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina
• 4+ years' progressive experience in the civil engineering field, including experience working with municipal infrastructure preferred
• Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration
• AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency
• Knowledge of NcDOT requirements
• Possess a valid driver's license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required

Responsibilities

• Manage planning, scheduling and performance of multiple engineering projects and personnel, both design and construction
• Collaborate with Project Managers to understand client needs and expectations
• Prepare preliminary reports and feasibility studies
• Read and interpret engineering plans, specifications and reports
• Provide technical advice on design, construction or modifications to clients, contractors and staff
• Assist with business development activities (client needs, research, proposals)
• Coordinate construction administration and monitor documentation with field staff
