Job summary

Mitrelli Group seeks an experienced Project Director to lead complex civil infrastructure projects across Africa. You will manage from planning to handover, liaising with clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities, while overseeing contracts and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The role requires 15+ years in senior infrastructure roles, Civil Engineering background, and Portuguese fluency; Master’s degree and PMP are advantages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree is a strong advantage; PMP certification desirable.
• Minimum 15 years senior-level infrastructure project experience, including 10 years on contractor’s side.
• Experience in water infrastructure or similar civil works.
• International project experience in Africa; ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end management of civil infrastructure projects from planning to handover.
• Liaise between Mitrelli and clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities.
• Oversee contract negotiation and management; manage change orders and contractual obligations.
• Direct on-site and off-site construction activities; ensure HSE and quality standards.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Mentor project managers, engineers, and technical staff.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; ensure contingency planning.
• Coordinate permitting, procurement, and regulatory compliance.
• Represent Mitrelli in high-level stakeholder meetings.
