Job summary
Black & Veatch Corporation seeks a Senior Civil Engineering Technician (Substation) to lead technical design and documentation for civil site developments within Grid Solutions. The role focuses on grading, drainage, utilities, and site layouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation.
You will guide technicians and ensure quality across complex projects. Hybrid work options may be offered after 90 days.
Qualifications
- Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
- Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required.
- Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
Responsibilities
- Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor.
- Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges.
- Creates, modifies, and maintains technical documentation using CAD/BIM tools.
- Provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians.
- Coordinates with other design groups and may support field activities.
- Ensures deliverables comply with applicable codes and standards.
