Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Senior Engineer - Civil/Site with strong public sector experience to lead design of civil/site and utility infrastructure, especially water and wastewater. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; MicroStation is a plus. PE preferred, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with clients and agencies.

The role involves preparing plan sets, leading design reviews, and ensuring quality across complex site projects. Hybrid work and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 7+ years in civil/site and utility design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; MicroStation is a plus.
• Leader capable of mentoring juniors and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience delivering public sector projects, including water/wastewater design.
• Ability to prepare plans and construction documents with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil/site and utility design plans for public sector projects including water distribution and sanitary sewer systems.
• Develop plan sets, profiles, and technical drawings for construction documents.
• Lead and coordinate with project managers, clients, and agency stakeholders.
• Mentor junior staff and CAD designers; review work for quality and standards.
• Coordinate permitting requirements and ensure compliance with agency standards.
• Prepare full plan sets independently including base mapping, alignments, and drainage sheets.
