Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Senior Engineer - Civil/Site with strong public sector experience to lead the design of civil/site and utility infrastructure projects, including water and wastewater systems. The role requires independence in producing full construction documents, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with agencies and clients.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required; MicroStation is a plus, PE preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
7+ years of progressive civil/site and utility design experience
Experience delivering public-sector projects (water and wastewater)
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required
Ability to lead and mentor junior staff
Ability to prepare independent plan sets with minimal oversight
Strong understanding of civil design standards, permitting, and workflows

Responsibilities

Design civil/site and utility layouts for public-sector projects including water distribution and sanitary sewer systems
Develop plan sets, profiles, details, and construction drawings
Perform design calculations and support technical specifications
Coordinate permitting and agency standards for public infrastructure
Support project managers to deliver on schedule and within budget
Lead junior engineers and CAD designers, review work for quality
Produce full plan sets independently including base mapping, alignments, and drainage plans
