Consort, Inc. seeks a Senior Civil Engineer with deep expertise in water modeling, wastewater modeling, and floodplain development to lead land development projects in Austin, TX.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, mentoring, and advancing the firm’s capabilities through high-quality work. You will guide hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, navigate city regulations, and collaborate with clients and officials to unlock site development potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas.
• 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience focused on water resources and land development.
• Deep familiarity with City of Austin Drainage Criteria Manual, Environmental Criteria Manual, and Land Development Code.
• Experience navigating floodplain development applications (CLOMR/LOMR) and mitigation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling efforts for projects.
• Prepare and review water, wastewater, stormwater, and floodplain studies per city codes.
• Develop floodplain development and mitigation strategies to enhance site potential.
• Direct design and permitting in collaboration with internal teams, clients, and city staff.
• Guide drainage, utility, and site design from due diligence through construction.
• Serve as technical authority for modeling and drainage efforts.
• Mentor junior engineers through hands-on leadership and reviews.
• Promote best practices in modeling methods and project delivery.
• Build relationships with clients, partners, and public reviewers.
