Job summary

CDM Smith’s Austin team seeks an Environmental/Civil Engineer to support drinking water and conveyance projects across Texas and nationwide. You will work on design and project delivery, growing into technical leadership.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, review designs for regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality solutions for complex infrastructure challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within 18 months of hire.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel contingent on duties.

Responsibilities

• Under light supervision, creates basic to high complexity engineering designs including hydraulics, water distribution, storage, and treatment.
• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Updates design requirements as necessary.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff and may supervise engineers on projects.
