Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer / Project Technical Leader to support water-related projects across the West Coast. Lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver designs for water, reuse, and wastewater systems, while complying with regulations and quality standards.

The role requires a PE license or eligibility, a civil/environmental/mechanical engineering background, and about 7 years of related experience, with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering required.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• 7 years of related experience with water/wastewater projects.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and approve engineering designs for water/wastewater systems.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams locally and across the West Coast.
• Ensure designs comply with state and local regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Prepare proposals and collaborate with sales/client service teams.
• Represent CDM Smith at conferences and client meetings.
