Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to support the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), a major design-build initiative under the Gateway Program. The role involves delivering complex utility infrastructure and civil coordination for a two-track rail tunnel beneath the Hudson River, supporting Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT customers.

You will act as the technical SME, review designs, lead field resolution of issues, and coordinate with contractors and public agencies while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Professional Engineer license in NJ or NY.
• 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with utility infrastructure focus.
• Experience resolving field issues and design changes.
• Familiarity with Amtrak, AREMA, NJDOT, NYDOT standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical SME for utility infrastructure systems during construction.
• Lead resolution of utility and civil-related construction issues.
• Review designs against field conditions and project constraints.
• Coordinate with contractors, Amtrak, and utility owners.
• Support utility coordination during construction and tie-ins.
• Review shop drawings and participate in field inspections.
• Identify risks affecting cost, schedule, and constructability.
