Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking a Studies & Plans Engineer. This Civil Engineer VI role directs engineering design, geometric, hydraulic, and environmental studies for district highway improvement programs. Responsibilities include contract document preparation and adherence to departmental standards.

The incumbent will supervise staff, manage work programs, and ensure timely project delivery within budget and policy constraints, including safety compliance.

Formación

• Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois OR current registration as a Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois.
• Six years of experience in civil engineering.

Responsabilidades

• Synthesizes engineering, sociological, and environmental factors that influence the design of transportation systems.
• Directs reviews of proper design applications of policies and procedures for projects prepared by consultants to ensure documents meet the needs of the district and comply with department policies.
• Directs the timely completion of plans and specifications so the project can be placed under contract by predetermined time schedules.
• Directs, motivates, and supervises personnel to accomplish the Studies and Plans Section's work programs and goals within the district's resources and deadlines.
• Provides administrative assistance in manpower, equipment requests, and budget matters to ensure efficient operations.
