Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Building Engineering Services group serving the Kentucky/Tennessee region. You will design and plan a wide range of commercial and industrial civil projects including site development, drainage, grading and utilities.

You will also lead projects, prepare documents, and advance permitting. Preferred candidates bring PE licensure, 10+ years of design experience, and strong leadership to deliver high‑quality civil site designs within HDR’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and PE license are required.
• Minimum 10 years of design experience managing civil/site projects.
• Project Engineering and Project Management experience.
• Active participation in our employee‑owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan production for civil site projects.
• Prepare specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates.
• Advance permitting requirements.
• Serve as technical expert for complex problems and larger projects.
• Manage projects as a Project Manager on larger assignments.
• Oversee client management and program development within the Civil Section.
• Coordinate with other HDR offices in the region on work sharing.
• Assist with recruitment and supervise staff as needed.
