Job summary

Veenstra & Kimm, Inc., a Kleinfelder Company, seeks a full-time Civil/Municipal Engineer to support local communities on civil, municipal, and environmental projects from our Des Moines area offices.

The ideal candidate holds a PE or EIT and has up to 10 years of design experience, with skills in roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water distribution design; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required.
• Up to 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Iowa or Missouri PE license or EIT certification or ability to obtain either within 6 months preferred.
• Experience with roadway, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water distribution design desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports.
• Prepare plans and specifications for specific projects.
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction.
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule.
