Job summary

KDG Construction Consulting is seeking a detail-oriented Civil Engineer to support the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Maintenance & Operations division. The role involves planning, design, and construction of District facilities with close collaboration with architects, engineers, and District staff.

Requires a California Professional Engineer license, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and at least eight years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
California Professional Engineer license is required.
Minimum eight years of full-time civil design experience, preferably in educational facilities.
Experience with AutoCAD and MS Office suite is required.

Responsibilities

Perform complex civil engineering work for planning, design, and construction of District facilities and site improvements.
Provide technical direction to architects and engineers; certify civil engineering design plans.
Coordinate with District staff, consultants, and external professionals on design guidelines and permitting.
Develop standards and specifications to ensure compliance with codes and industry practices.
Review and approve project scope, drawings, and cost estimates; manage contracts and task orders.
