Job summary

KDG Construction Consulting is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Los Angeles-based team supporting the LAUSD Maintenance & Operations division. The role involves planning, design, and construction of district facilities, with leadership in site improvements and technical coordination with architects and engineers.

The ideal candidate holds a California PE license, 8+ years of civil design experience (preferably in education facilities), and strong AutoCAD and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Valid PE license in Civil Engineering issued by the California State Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists is required.
• Minimum eight (8) years of full-time paid professional experience in civil design on commercial or public agency projects, preferably educational facilities.
• Experience in AutoCAD software design.
• Proficiency in office computer software (Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Performs highly complex civil engineering work related to planning, design, and construction of District facilities and site improvements.
• Apply civil engineering principles to planning, design, and construction of FSD projects, including scope development, budgets, and design reviews.
• Provides technical direction to architects and engineers regarding District policies and design guidelines for site development.
• Reviews project documents for conformance with policies, standards, and codes; coordinates revisions as needed.
• Obtains and manages contracts and task orders for civil engineering and related services.
• Coordinates with City of Los Angeles and consultants for permits and approvals of off-site improvements.
