Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Civil Engineer with PE credentials to join a multi-disciplinary team on power plant and industrial projects. You will develop civil site designs, perform earthwork calculations and coordinate with managers, clients, and contractors in a hybrid work environment.

Required are a BSCE (ABET) and 5+ years of team-based project experience, with site grading, stormwater, wastewater, and road/rail design.

Qualifications

• BSCE from ABET-accredited program required.
• PE license or ability to earn PE license required.
• Five or more years in a project team environment designing industrial projects.
• Experience in site grading, earthwork, storm water, sanitary sewer, and road/rail track design.
• Experience in technical writing for reports, calculations, and specifications.
• Experience obtaining site permits from regulatory agencies.
• Proficient with Civil 3D, StormCad, PondPack, AutoTurn and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong teamwork.
• Based in Phoenix, AZ with potential travel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations for storm water drainage, sanitary sewer, pavement thickness, ponds and earthwork.
• Prepare technical specifications to define construction requirements.
• Prepare site layout, grading and drainage designs; work in 3-D models and drawings.
• Design storm drainage systems, roads, trackwork, ponds, and landfills.
• Review contractor or vendor drawings for conformance with specs.
• Travel to client offices or plant sites for reviews and field verification as needed.
