Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership, mentor engineering staff, and support the continued growth of our multidisciplinary engineering practice throughout the Gulf Coast region.

This position is intentionally broad to attract accomplished engineering professionals with expertise in transportation, site civil, coastal engineering, hydrology and hydraulics, water resources, federal, municipal, or other civil engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• PE license required.
• Demonstrated expertise in transportation, site civil, water resources, or related disciplines.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on complex engineering projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from planning through construction.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff across multiple locations.
• Review engineering reports, plans, and specifications for quality.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify future opportunities.
• Support business development, proposals, and strategic planning.
• Coordinate with public agencies, municipalities, and private clients.
• Expand Thompson Engineering's services and regional presence.
• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
