Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership, mentor engineering staff, and support the continued growth of our multidisciplinary practice along the Gulf Coast region. This broad role covers transportation, site civil, coastal engineering, hydrology and hydraulics, water resources, and municipal or federal projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on complex engineering projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from planning through construction.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff across multiple office locations.
• Serve as a technical reviewer for engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work.
• Support business development, proposal preparation, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Coordinate with public agencies, municipalities, and private clients.
• Assist in expanding Thompson Engineering's engineering services and regional presence.
• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
