Job summary

Thompson Engineering seeks a Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership across our Gulf Coast practice. You will mentor engineers, lead multidisciplinary teams from planning through construction, and ensure design excellence aligned with client goals and budgets.

You will build client relationships, identify new opportunities, and contribute to strategic planning and business development while advancing Thompson Engineering’s civil, coastal, and infrastructure projects throughout the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience across Transportation, Site Civil, Water Resources, Hydrology & Hydraulics, Coastal Engineering, Federal Infrastructure, Municipal Engineering, or Land Development.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on complex engineering projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from planning through construction.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff across multiple office locations.
• Serve as a technical reviewer for engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work.
• Support business development, proposal preparation, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Coordinate with public agencies, municipalities, and private clients.
• Assist in expanding Thompson Engineering's engineering services and regional presence.
• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
