Job summary

Thompson Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineer to provide technical leadership across transportation, site civil, coastal engineering, hydrology, and water resources projects along the Gulf Coast. You will mentor staff, lead multidisciplinary teams from planning through construction, review reports, and build strong client relationships while pursuing new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Expertise in Transportation, Site Civil, Water Resources, Hydrology & Hydraulics (H&H), Coastal Engineering, Federal Infrastructure, Municipal Engineering, or Land Development.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on complex engineering projects.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams from planning through construction.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff across multiple office locations.
• Serve as technical reviewer for engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work.
• Support business development, proposal preparation, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Coordinate with public agencies, municipalities, and private clients.
• Assist in expanding Thompson Engineering's services and regional presence.
• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
