Job summary

SRK Consulting in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design for mine waste and water projects. You will manage technical deliverables, budgets and schedules, and interact with clients during site visits.

The role requires a PE or eligibility within 12 months, 8+ years in mining or civil/geotechnical fields, and strong collaboration across disciplines. Experience with permitting and project development is preferred and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, geotechnical, mining engineering, or related field.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) or able to obtain registration within 12 months.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in mining or civil/geotechnical engineering.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary specialists in mining, geochemistry, geotechnics, groundwater, and environment.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Execute and provide technical oversight of civil design for mine waste and water projects.
• Lead project management of deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
• Oversee conceptual to detailed design and permitting processes.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations and models.
• Interface with clients and conduct site visits/inspections as needed.
• Support development and advancement of SRK’s engineering practice.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to business development.
