Job summary

HBK Engineering is seeking a Civil Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) for our Spring, TX, Chicago, Geneva or Oak Brook office. This senior role directs day-to-day management of direct reports, ensures delivery of project work, and combines technical and financial expertise to guide projects.

You will lead teams, review documents for quality, develop proposals, manage scopes and schedules, mentor staff, and push innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
• Typically 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of client standards, guidelines, systems, and equipment.
• Understanding of national standards and guidelines.
• Understanding of safe work practices in office and field environments.
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a highly organized, collaborative environment.
• Experience leading discipline design and delegating tasks to team members.
• Ability to perform quality reviews of project work and engineering documents and standards.
• Attention to detail, teamwork, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop direct report team members through day-to-day oversight and professional development.
• Direct and coordinate technical activities related to project execution and delivery.
• Independently apply extensive knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
• Develop new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products.
• Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
• Supervise all staff necessary to complete assignments.
• Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
• Facilitate formation of project teams and mediate conflict between team members.
• Oversee, evaluate, and mentor direct reports in day-to-day execution of assigned projects and responsibilities.
• Maintain regular one-on-one meetings with all direct reports.
• Train and mentor team members within their teams.
