Job summary

HBK Engineering is seeking a Civil Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) for our Spring, TX, Chicago, Geneva or Oak Brook office. This senior role directs day-to-day management of direct reports, ensures delivery of project work, and combines technical and financial expertise to guide projects.

You will lead teams, review documents for quality, develop proposals, manage scopes and schedules, mentor staff, and push innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
• Typically 10+ years of engineering experience.
• Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of client standards, guidelines, systems, and equipment.

About this Role

HBK Engineering is seeking a Civil Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) for our Spring, TX, Chicago, Geneva or Oak Brook office. This position is responsible for day-to-day management and development of direct report team members while ensuring delivery and execution of project work. This senior role involves directing and coordinating technical activities related to project execution and delivery, requiring a thorough understanding of both technical and financial aspects of HBK's work. The position may specialize in a sub-field within their area of expertise to align with long-term industry trends while maintaining technical competency to train and monitor team members in their duties.

What You'll Do

• Manage and develop direct report team members through day-to-day oversight and professional development
• Direct and coordinate technical activities related to project execution and delivery
• Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields
• Use advanced techniques in modification or extension of theories and practices to complete assignments
• Work on major projects or several projects of moderate scope with complex features
• Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
• Develop new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products
• Supervise all staff necessary to complete assignments
• Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments
• Facilitate formation of project teams and mediate conflict between team members
• Oversee, evaluate, and mentor direct reports in day-to-day execution of assigned projects and organizational responsibilities
• Maintain regular one-on-one meetings with all direct reports on weekly or bi-weekly basis
• Train and mentor team members within their teams
• Complete timesheets in a timely and accurate manner
• Advise in development of Project Proposals and RFP responses
• Anticipate technical and constructability project challenges and minimize downstream project risk
• Monitor that all work is performed under contract or gain approval for work outside standard contract sequence
• Address concerns that may affect safety, budget, deadlines, or clients adversely
• Establish positive relations within project teams and with supporting groups within the company
• Take leadership roles in company-sponsored events and HBK Impact programs
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation across the organization
• Represent the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $90,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
