Job summary
Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH) is seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer or Senior Project Consultant to join our multi‑disciplinary civil engineering team in the Greater Boston area. You will lead complex land development, drainage, and site‑improvement projects, integrating hydraulics, geotechnical inputs, and architecture to deliver durable, code‑compliant solutions.
Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of civil engineering experience, a PE license, and an MS or PhD in Civil Engineering.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of civil engineering experience or equivalent in related field.
- Professional licensure required.
- MS or PhD in Civil Engineering from ABET‑accredited university or pursuing MS within 4 years.
- Active involvement with ASCE or similar civil orgs and committees.
Responsibilities
- Prepare proposals, including budgeting and personnel needs.
- Plan work for supervisor approval and lead complex projects.
- Supervise project staff and ensure quality delivery.
- Maintain client relations and lead technical discussions.
- Support internal technical training and knowledge sharing.
